We’re proud to be the first South Sound hospital to earn a Gold Seal of Approval® for hip replacement, knee replacement and spine surgery from The Joint Commission, the premier health care quality improvement and accrediting organization in the nation. This means that our program has undergone rigorous clinical review and patients can expect the highest level of care when undergoing these surgical procedures. Hip & Knee Replacement Surgery

Pain in your hips and knees from degenerative conditions such as arthritis, musculoskeletal disease or joint trauma can keep you from activities you most enjoy.

Our highly-trained, board-certified surgeons offer both partial and total joint replacement options to best relieve your pain and accommodate your daily living activities.

Capital Medical Center is the only in Thurston County to offer robotic-arm surgical procedures for partial/total knee replacement and total hip replacement.

This highly advanced robotic technology transforms the way joint replacement surgery is performed, enabling surgeons to have a more predictable surgical experience with increased accuracy.

The new robotic-arm surgical system provides each patient with a personalized surgical experience based on their specific diagnosis and anatomy.

Using a virtual 3D model, the innovative system allows surgeons to create each patient’s own unique surgical plan pre-operatively before entering the operating room.

When preparing the bone for the implant, the surgeon guides the robotic arm within the predefined area to help provide more accurate placement and alignment of your implant.

During surgery, the surgeon validates the plan and makes any necessary adjustments in real time, while the robotic arm allows the surgeon to execute the plan with a high level of accuracy and predictability.

The combination of these three features of the system has the potential to lead to better outcomes and higher patient satisfaction.
