Faces of Capital: Guadalupe King, Cardiac Monitor Technician
October 28, 2020

Meet, Guadalupe, ‘Lupe’, King, Capital Medical Center’s Cardiac Monitor Technician. Lupe serves as cardiac mission control to all floors in the hospital; always watching patients’ heart rhythms and prepared to notify personnel when a patient’s heart is in need.
Working in a constant state of motion and sound, Lupe spends her day watching the cardiac rhythms on patients, monitoring the call light system, admitting transfers, updating orders, and providing exemplary patient care. Always quick to lend a hand or a smile, Lupe is a universally loved figure throughout the hospital. As the youngest of 10 siblings, it’s no surprise that Lupe is calm under a whirlwind of tasks. “She’s unstoppable” says Erin Standard, manager of the ICU, “she’s constantly making and answering calls, calling in nurses to check on a patient, and doing it all with the biggest smile on her face. Lupe recently transferred to the float pool staff where her hard work and kindness will be greatly appreciated hospital wide!”
