Capital Medical Center thanks and salutes its team of pharmacists for its role in making our community healthier!

September 25 is World Pharmacists Day, the annual day that recognizes the role of the pharmacist in improving health in every corner of the world.

The pharmacy located within Capital Medical Center is responsible for making sure that patients’ medications are filled correctly. Capital’s team of pharmacists are medication experts who are available 24/7 help patients in their recovery.

The theme of this year’s World Pharmacists Day is “Safe and effective medicines for all.”

At Capital, the near-dozen pharmacist team members live this theme each and every day.

“The pharmacists are able to work side-by-side the medical team providing guidance on safe medication use,” says Pharmacy Director Sarah Morrison, PharmD, MSHA, BCPS. “They frequently meet with patients to discuss their home medications and provide counseling to ensure safe discharge.

“The pharmacists at Capital Medical Center are committed to ensuring that each patient receives safe and effective care during their visit.”

World Pharmacists Day was originally adopted in 2009 at the World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
